William Henry Brown (American, 1808-1883), 1844. A lithograph on paper depicting a full-length silhouette of John Randolph of Roanoke, Virginia, marked for the lithographers E.B. & E.C. Kellogg; 16 x 11.5 in. (sight).

Brown traveled through New England and the Southern United States, working as a portrait painter and silhouettist.  He created many portraits of distinguished citizens, and in 1846 published a book of lithographs titled Portrait Gallery of Distinguished Americans.
