These rocks are great for the indoors and outdoors. They have a special coating that allows them to be weatherproof. They will need to be brought in during the harsh winter months as the ice and snow will deteriorate the finish.
Use them in your Garden, add color and interest down a pathway to your front door, a paperweight on a desk, a door stop or just placed anywhere in your home for a splash of color and delight!
About the Artist:
Art has always been a part of my life. Our small town high school added its first art class
when I was a Senior, and I happily enrolled to be introduced to watercolor, acrylic, and oil
painting as well as clay sculpting. When I graduated, my art teacher’s entry in my yearbook
was that she hoped I would continue to pursue my art, as she would hate to see my talent
wasted.
Life intervened, though, and it would be 20 years before I once again tried my hand at another
artform – glassblowing! I loved it, and sold my paperweights, vases, and plates at numerous
art festivals in Ohio and Michigan. Retirement from my regular job in finance and accounting
resulted in a move to Arizona, and I left the hot glass furnaces behind.
Still longing to create something, I saw articles and photos of the newly popular dotted
mandalas on rocks, and quickly decided to try it. I fell in love with an art form that allows a
blend of my analytical mind (creating the balanced designs) and my creative side (selecting
the various color combinations). After growing a bit bored with the restrictions of designing on
a rock, I began to create larger designs on canvas. I become totally engrossed in each work I
paint, leaving my day-to-day cares and problems aside. When I want more freedom and
relaxation, I also paint whimsical animals, flowers, and scenes on wood boards for indoor and
outdoor display.
I truly believe this quote from Picasso:
“Art washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life.”
