Shadow Fires is a 1987 horror novel by Dean Koontz, originally published under the pseudonym Leigh Nichols, about a woman whose abusive husband dies in a car crash, only for his body to disappear from the morgue, leading her to realize her marriage isn't over as she's stalked by a grotesque, reanimated version of him seeking revenge. The story follows protagonist Rachael Leben as she uncovers her husband Eric's dark secrets and is hunted by forces connected to his work at a bio-research company, with the help of her new love interest, Ben Shadway.
